Marine Engine Maintenance

Outdrives should be pulled at least once every two years. This service includes the following:

    • Greasing spins on shaft and U-joints
    • Checking condition of Gimble bearing and Bellows
    • Replacing the gasket and O-rings.

 

Winterizing Service- Packages Includes:

  • Grease
  • Fog Engine (if applicable)
  • Stabilize Gas (if applicable)
  • Change Gear Lube
  • Oil & Filter
  • Anti-freeze Livewells (if applicable)

Listed below are the two types of winterizing packages offered and what
the service entails:

 

Package 1: Outboard Motor

 

  • Check engines and basic operation
  • Fuel stabilizer is added to preserve both the fuel and the fuel tank for upcoming winter and spring months
  • Apply anti-corrosion grease to all fittings, links and steering cables
  • Inspection of the throttle, steering and shift cables for binding and wear
  • Inspection of the water pump discharge
  • Fog the engine block, carburetors and fuel lines
  • Four stroke models: Change fuel filter and refill with manufacturer’s recommended four stroke oil and all engines are flushed with a non-toxic antifreeze for ultimate protection.

 

Package 2: Stern Drive

 

  • Run motor and check basic operations
  • Inspection of water discharge
  • Inspection of lower unit for water and pressure check- if necessary, drain water from block and manifold and refill with marine
    grade antifreeze, drain oil from engine and replace oil filter and refill with manufacturer’s recommended oil
  • Replace water separator
  • Apply anti-corrosion grease to all outdrive fittings
  • Grease all other fitting and steering cables with marine grade grease
  • Fuel stabilizer is added to preserve both the fuel tank for upcoming winter and spring
    months
  • Fog the engine block, carburetor and fuel lines
